Guelph Police lay drug and weapon charges

Guelph Police lay charges May 6 for drug and weapons possession.

Drug charge

A 46-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The man was arrested on May 6 at approximately 4:00 p.m. near the intersection of Woodlawn Rd. W. and Silvercreek Pkwy. N.

Guelph Police discovered 0.52 grams of Fentanyl in his possession. The found drug is valued at about $130.

He will appear in court Sept. 4.

Weapons charges

A 33-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon after Guelph police arrested him downtown.

The man was spotted downtown smoking crystal meth from a glass pipe at approximately 11:30 a.m. on May 6.

The man was found to be in possession of a switchblade and two small rubber containers with residue from Crystal Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.

He will appear in court Aug. 14.
